The assessment date will be on 4 February 2008 at 7:00 - 9:00 pm. The assessment for this module comprises of two pieces: (1) view a video at home and critique the video by answering a set of structured questions in the classroom (40%) and (2) write 100  words to summarize the content of the critique (40%). The other 20% is awarded for class attendance. Participants must have 80% attendance to be eligible for the assessment.

Guidelines for assessment

Participants are advised to work in groups to do a video-critique.

A video will be given to you to take home to view in your own time. It is a 10-minutes recording of a communication/interaction with an older person. In the classroom examination, each group of participants will be given 10 minutes to critique the video for strengths and weaknesses of communication skills used by answering a set of structured questions. Additionally, you will be given another 20 minutes to write a 100-words summary of the strengths and weaknesses identified in the conversation with the older person.
