DAG03: Health and Disease in Aging
Class times and venue All classes will be on Saturday from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Hong Kong Institute of Gerontology, 1/F, HKSR Lam Tin Complex, 7 Rehab Path, Lam Tin, Kowloon. Aim of the module This module introduces health and disease problems commonly occur among older people. Participants have to understand the causation, symptoms and types of health and disease problems encountered by older people.
Learning objectives Upon completion of this module, participants will be able to grasp an understanding on the various types of health and disease problems of older people
Course Content This module consists of 9 sessions. Each session will last for 2 hours.
Teaching and learning methods Classroom teaching, case study and group discussion.

Exemptions may be considered on an individual basis. Please make cheque payable to ‘Hong Kong Association of Gerontology’.
Award certificate Upon successful completion of the course, the award of the Basic Certificate in Applied Gerontology will be awarded by the Hong Kong Association of Gerontology. Additionally, this module is accredited by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Physiotherapist Association, Hong Kong Occupational Therapist Association and CME accreditation associations. CNE / CPD / CME points will be awarded by the above professional associations accordingly.
