Domestic Helper Training Basic Course (English)

(Jointly Organized Certificate Course with YMCA)

Aim

The Hong Kong Institute of Gerontology recognizes the importance of caring for elderly people in their own homes, the responsibilities and contribution that domestic helpers in assisting daily activities and necessities of elderly people.  It is the intention of this course to focus on the demonstration of basic care tasks and essential skills to enable domestic helpers in caring for elderly people at home.  A practical and skills-focused approach will be used to deliver the teaching sessions.  Instructors are professionals in clinical nursing and rehabilitation with extensive experience in care for elderly people.
